Extractor Fan Replacements in Car Park
Work Carried Out
Our customers site has a basement carpark that has vehicle parking facilities and also house’s the site generator. The site being on top of a main line tube & train station has very limited options for installing new building services equipment and as such when the generator was installed the exhaust expels into the basement car park and the existing car park ventilation system removed the generator exhaust fumes to roof level.
The fans are a twin, duty & standby system but one of the fans had failed leaving the customer at risk. The project was to replace the failed fan, switch the systems over and replace the working fan for a new motor to ensure future service.
Access is very poor and large section of the extract ductwork had to be removed to provide safe access to the failed motors. Also motors had to be ATEX rated due to the air being extracted from the car park. Once complete the fans were re-balanced and all seals on the ductwork replaced.
