VSD Replacement for HVAC System

Work Carried Out

The site has a split ventilation system that services all the tenant floors. Once of the main AHU’s had failed and we were asked to investigate. We found that the output rail on the old VSD had shorted and was tripping when the site team was trying to run the system.

We diagnosed the VSD failure and through our extensive support chain managed to get the new VSD to site the next day. We installed the new VSD, commissioned along side with our controls specialist and had the system back up and running within 48hrs of our initial site investigation.

  1. 50% of the building ventilation was offline
  2. Large old VSD drive failed
  3. Potential building closure if ventilation couldn’t be restored quickly
  4. Tenant complaints on general building temperatures and stale air.

Happy tenants removed all complaints and minimised our clients exposure to criticism from the tenant teams.
